The subject matter below is the focus of the next Connected Cars forum in 2017. Interestingly, the subject matter has evolved from a future state debate and the art of the possible, to real life concerns from both a consumer and business perspective.
Creating a truly pleasant customer experience when it comes to the connected car, autonomous vehicles and connected insurance is an area which continues to be a focus for automakers, insurers and tier 1s. Actually creating an HMI which delights the user, makes them feel safe and can be monetised is a real challenge. Thinking differently is important. Developing new business models and designing the car around the user and not the technology is a new way of thinking for many. The challenge is to take all of the new technology being developed like V2X, and data management and actually turn it into a consumer centric system which generates money for OEMs, insurers and tier 1s.
