Hot on the heels of announcing its partnership with Audi to produce a fully self-driving car by 2020, leading chip maker Nvidia has launched another partnership with a heavyweight vehicle manufacturer.
This time the partner is Mercedes-Benz. Nvidia and Mercedes have been working together for a few years on AI and "deep learning" technology. Now the plan is to bring a car powered by Nvidia's artificial intelligence technology to the market within the next year.
Details of the proposed vehicle are yet to emerge, but it's thought to use deep learning to generate a smarter, more individual driving experience.
Exciting times, both for Nvidia and its OEM partners! It will be fascinating to see these new products develop and hit the market over the next few years.
Just when you thought CES 2017 was done with car news, Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia come to the rescue.
