The Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill was read in Parliament last week and became law on the same day. Singapore has previously shown that it aims to lead the way in the fledgling autonomous vehicles sector (see for example our post on the self-driving taxi trial that started there last year). The government clearly sees the advantages in creating the right platform to retain Singapore's edge in this field.
The Singapore Government has amended the Road Traffic Act to better facilitate the trials of autonomous vehicles (AVs) in Singapore.
