NVIDIA's recent announcement of its collaboration with Bosch, the world's largest automotive supplier, marks a step on the way towards developing autonomous vehicles for the mass market. NVIDIA and Bosch are working to incorporate NVIDIA’s forthcoming Xavier technology, which can process up to 30 trillion deep learning operations a second, into a platform for use in self-driving cars.
NVIDIA has already announced several partners for its AI-powered self-driving car tech, such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The partnership with Bosch indicates that NVIDIA is targeting deep market penetration, as Bosch is the leading tier-one supplier to all major car makers in the world.
“I’m so proud to announce that the world’s leading tier-one automotive supplier — the only tier one that supports every car maker in the world — is building an AI car computer for the mass market,” said Huang [NVIDIA's CEO]
